Dit was letterlijk onze eerste Aussie. Hij komt uit de Amerikaanse Sandicast collectie. Hij heeft jaren in het raam van onze woonkamer gelegen in afwachting van een echte Aussie. Hij ligt daar nog steeds, nu als toezichthouder op de ligzakken van Scooter en Beetle :-)
This was our first Aussie - literally. It is out of the American Sandicast collection. For years it has been lying in the window of our livingroom, in expectation of the arrival of a real Aussie. He is still there, now keeping an eye on the beds of Scooter and Beetle :-)
Deze knappe blue merle komt uit Engeland.

Toen ik deze twee Aussies op te koop op E-Bay zag, deden ze me in hun bewegingen sterk denken aan Scooter en Beetle: de een met de frisbee, de ander danst er omheen. Passie! Het was liefde op het eerste gezicht. Beide beeldjes zijn een complete remakes van de Breyer Aussie (model no. 1515), verzorgd door Terry Martin van de Amerikaanse Slash V kennels die er enorm veel werk in heeft gestoken.
When I saw these two Aussies being for sale at E-Bay, they immediately made me think of Scooter and Beetle: one holding the frisbee, the other one dancing around. Passion! It was love at first sight. Both are a total remake of the Breyer Aussie (model # 1515) done by Terry Martin of the American Slash V kennels, who put hours of work in them.
Deze doorzichtige Aussie van plexiglas vond tijdelijk onderdak bij Scooter and Friends. Het is de wisseltrofee voor de beste van het ras op de clubshow van de Australian Shepherd Club Nederland. Scooter was de eerste die hem won op de allereerste kampioenschapsclubmatch van de rasvereniging in 2002.
This see-through Aussie made of plexiglass found a temporary home at Scooter and Friends. It is the Best Of Breed challenge trophy at the clubshow of the Australian Shepherd Club of the Netherlands. Scooter was the first one to win it at the first championship show of the breed club in 2002.
Dit is voor ons een heel speciaal beeldje: Beetle heeft het ter ere van zijn Nederlandse kampioenstitel gekregen van zijn fokster Janine. De Aussie staat op een houten plateau met daarop een plaatje, waarin de naam van Beetle en het jaartal van zijn titel (2003) staan gegraveerd.
This is a very special Aussie for us: it was presented to Beetle by his breeder Janine for finishing his Dutch show champion title. The dog stands on a piece of wood with a plaquette in which Beetles name and the year of winning the title (2003) are engraved.

En ook op deze Aussies zijn we trots: Scooter was beste veteraan van het ras op de clubshow 2005 van de Australian Shepherd Club Belgium. Van de Engelse keurmeester Colin Dowson kreeg hij deze prachtige prijs: ingelijste spelkaarten, postzegels en sigarenbandjes met Aussies erop!
And we are also very proud of these Aussies: Scooter was BOB Veteran at the Australian Shepherd Club Belgium 2005 clubshow. Judge Colin Dowson (UK) presented this beautiful prize: framed stamps, cigar bands and playing card with Aussies!
'Tanty' Lisette uit België (thanks Tanty!) wees me op dit beeldje, dat werd geveild op eBay. 'Aussie met teddybeer' is handgemaakt en -geschilderd door Jene Anderson in Amerika, dus 'a one of a kind sculpture'. Het past perfect in de collectie: weer een beeldje waar heel veel beweging en Aussiepret in zit.
'Auntie' Lisette from Belgium (thanks Auntie!) told me about this figurine, that was auctioned at eBay. 'Aussie with teddybear' is entirely hand made and hand painted by Jene Anderson from the United States, so it is a 'a one of a kind sculpture'. It fits perfectly in our collection: again a figurine with a lot of motion and Aussiefun.
Okay, het is geen Aussie, maar we zijn wel blij met onze Nipper, een His Masters Voice replica hondje.

De luttele vijf minuten die ik tijdens Crufts even in de perskamer moest zijn waren precies genoeg voor Walter om snel even deze speelse Aussie te kopen :-)
I had to be in the press room at Crufts for only vijf minutes, but that gave Walter just enough time to buy this playful Aussie :-)
